Recommended browsers
This site is best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or 8, Mozilla Firefox 3, or Safari.
Please note: This CD-ROM has been tested on Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 7 and 8 on Windows based operating systems and for Safari and Firefox 3 on Macintosh based operating systems.
Access keys
In most modern web browsers, access keys provide keyboard shortcuts to commonly used navigation options. Access keys may be of particular use to those users who have difficulty in using a mouse or other pointing device, and can be of benefit to all users as navigation shortcuts.
This CD uses the following keys:
- n navigates to the next page
- b navigates to the previous page
- m navigates from the Home page to the Module 1 page
- 1 navigates to Module 1 where available
- 2 navigates to Module 2 where available
- 3 navigates to Module 3 where available
- 4 navigates to Module 4 where available
- 5 navigates to Module 5 where available
- 6 navigates to Module 6 where available
- 7 navigates to Module 7 where available
- 8 navigates to Module 8 where available
- h navigates to the Home page
- e navigates to the Help page
- x quits the program
- o navigates to the Copyright & Acknowledgements page
- a navigates to the Accessibility page
- g navigates to the Glossary page where available
- l navigates to the Links page where available
- r navigates to the Resources page where available
- p prints the content in the current page excluding the thumbnails for the images and videos
- t navigates to the Top of page where available
- c closes pop-up windows used for images, videos and quizzes
How to use access keys
Depending on your browser, the way you use access keys may vary.
For Internet Explorer
- Windows: Hold down the Alt key and the relevant number key, release, then press the Enter key
- Mac: Hold down the Ctrl key and press the relevant number key
For Firefox and Mozilla-based browsers
- Windows: Hold down the Alt key and press the relevant number key
- Mac: Hold down the Ctrl key and press the relevant number key
For Opera
- Windows/Mac: Hold down the Shift and Esc keys, release, then press the relevant number key
Please note: If your browser is not listed here, you should refer to your browser's documentation or help files to check if it supports the use of access keys.
Changing the text size
If the size of the text on this site is too small for you to read comfortably, you can use your browser to increase (or decrease) the size of the text.
For Firefox and Mozilla-based browsers
From the menu bar, select View > Text Size, then select Increase or Decrease to change the text size.
You can also use the following keyboard shortcuts:
- Press the Ctrl and + keys together to increase the text size
- Press the Ctrl and - keys together to decrease the text size
- Press the Ctrl and 0 keys together to return the text size to normal
For Internet Explorer browsers
From the menu bar, select View > Text Size, then select a Larger or Smaller text size. Selecting Medium will return the page to normal.
If you are using Internet Explorer 7 you can zoom in and out of the page using the following shortcuts:
- Press the Ctrl and + keys together to zoom in
- Press the Ctrl and - together to zoom out
- Press the Ctrl and 0 keys together to return to normal size
